Effective data visualisation is the key to conveying the meaning of the data. At PDBe we have a variety of widgets on our pages to display protein structure data. For example, you might have seen the recently added LiteMol 3D structure viewer, or the sequence and topology diagrams which interact with it. We’ve also just added a widget indicating how changes the model quality.
These data visualisation widgets are taken from the PDB Component Library- a collection of web components for visualisation of protein structural data. Developed by a variety of contributors, the components in the library are free to use and easily integrated into any webpage. Anyone can make use of the components their own website.
More details of the PDB Component Library are available at http://www.ebi.ac.uk/pdbe/pdb-component-library/index.htm. Please get in touch (using the feedback button above) if you’re interested in contributing components to the PDB component library.
