The Worldwide Protein Data Bank (wwPDB) consists of organisations that act as deposition, data processing and distribution centres for PDB data. The founding members are PDBe (Europe), (USA) and (Japan). (USA) joined the wwPDB in 2006. The mission of wwPDB is to maintain a single Protein Data Bank archive of macromolecular structure data that is freely and publicly available to the global comunity |

EMDB is the global repository for electron microscopy density maps of macromolecular complexes and subcellular structures. It covers a variety of techniques, including single-particle analysis, electron tomography, and electron (2D) crystallography. EMDB was established at the EBI by the PDBe team in 2002. It is now operated jointly by PDBe and the PDB. Depositions to the archive can be made at both sites. is the Unified Data Resource for Cryo-Electron Microscopy that manages EMDB, through a joint NIH grant to Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, TX), RCSB PDB and PDBe |
