The 17 thAnnual International Biocuration Conference (AIBC-2024) is being jointly organized by the , , Faridabad and University of Delhi South Campus for the first time in India. Mentored by the , the conference provides a unique opportunity to curators, developers, data stake holders at global level to interact and exchange ideas and expertise. As data science emerges as an integral component of almost all aspects of life science research, it is imperative that the data curation community continues to evolve to become more inclusive and diverse. The 17th chapter of this annual extravaganza comes with a distinct ‘flavour�. As more and more data continues to be generated from the extremely diverse biodiversity (fauna/flora including ethnic human population) in India, the interaction of the global biocuration community with the national stake holders (data generators, curators, developers) shall unfold exciting opportunities. Participants from academia, government and industry are encouraged to participate.
